ISI plot foiled, Pakistan spying in Gorakhpur through hantrap''''—''''
Pakistan is adopting a variety of tactics to gain intelligence related to India. Pakistani intelligence agency ISI once again resorted to honey traps to get information related to the Indian Air Force and army, but in time, security agencies foiled the project by arresting its agent.
In fact, hanif (renamed), a 51-year-old Indian national, was being rescued by the Military Intelligence (MI) unit and the Uttar Pradesh ATS from an ISI racket and was trying to get information through a honey trap.
According to intelligence agency and ATS sources, the ISI was trying to gather information and photographs of Gorakhpur railway station, Indian Air Force Station and Kundra Ghat military station through Mohammad Hanif. Hanif was also being blackmailed. He is the indian soldiers who have been asked to use it. "WhatsApp Group0 Information on the total number of " was also being sought.
Between 2014 and 2018, Hanif had travelled to Pakistan and went home to his relatives. Hanif was trapped by the ISI. He was taken to a brothel in the last leg of the trip where his video was made. Later, the same video was used to blackmail the ISI to send pictures of sensitive places in the eastern cities of Uttar Pradesh.
However, Indian agencies soon detected the isi plot and launched 'Operation Racket'. Despite corona virus related restrictions in the state, the Uttar Pradesh ATS took precautions on The Ram Mandir Bhoomi Pujan and Independence Day on August 5 to find out the case and the joint team monitored the activities of the suspect at Gorakhpur.
The first input of suspected activities of Hanif's cellphone number, which runs a tea shop in Gorakhpur, came from Millennium Intelligence (MI) counterparts in Jammu and Kashmir. The Lucknow-based MI unit immediately got into action and captured Hanif in Gorakhpur.
The intelligence team carefully recovered all the inputs collected from it. Mohammad Hanif's identity as a suspect was confirmed and his connection with Pakistan was traced.
The unit shared all the findings with the Uttar Pradesh ATS in the first week of July and a joint team was formed for further action in this sensitive matter.
However, after the investigation, it was revealed how the tea seller who went to meet relatives in Pakistan got caught up in the espionage game for the enemy country. Initially, Hanif refused to engage in any illegal or anti-country activities, but soon he broke down. He then revealed the ISI plot.
